P r o s p e c t   P l a c e   C o n s e r v a t i o n   A r e a   T r u s t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prospect Place Conservation Area Trust, is a charity formed by residents to help protect and improve the Prospect Place Conservation Area through education, community and infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area consists of 120 small terraced houses with a school, public house, shop and two chapels. Prospect Place was developed after the arrival of the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal in 1810 and expanded when the Great Western Railway was established in 1840. After the Second World War the area went into serious decline and despite a traffic management scheme in 1983 and Conservation Area designation in 1990 little has been done to help or enhance the area since. The Trust was formed by 25 residents in 2018 after a public meeting when it was agreed to organise various projects to help the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objectives of the Trust:<\/b>Prospect Place Conservation Area Trust is a charity which we set up in 2018 with the following objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. To educate and disseminate information about the significance of the Prospect Place Conservation Area to residents and the wider community.<\/li>\n
  2. To generate and undertake projects and initiatives to enhance the historic environment of the Prospect Place Conservation Area.<\/li>\n
  3. To develop and support the community spirit of the Prospect Place Conservation Area<\/li>\n
  4. To collaborate with local residents, statutory authorities, and voluntary organisations to improve the wellbeing of the people living in the Prospect Place Conservation Area.<\/li>\n
  5. The Prospect Place Conservation Area Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and creating an environment whereby no one is discriminated against on the basis of Age, Disability, Gender, Race, Faith or Sexual Orientation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Anyone who supports the work of the charity and are aged 18 or over, can apply to the trustees to become a member.<\/p>\n
